The Candidates

We have purchased the older horse we were looking at!

We were lucky enough to get the horse we wanted!  I found him at Suffolk Downs, in East Boston, Massachusetts.  Just by a fluke.  He is a son of  Aptitude out of Funder Powers, by Broad Brush.  His name is Money Talkin and he’s pretty much exactly what I was looking for, in that he is certainly bred to run – both Aptitude and Broad Brush were second in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, and Aptitude was also second in the Belmont Stakes.  Both were winners of mulitple Grade I stakes races and earned $1.9 million and $2.6 million respectively.  Not only is he bred to run, he did win at allowance level when he was young, and won on the turf as well as the dirt.  He has been running poorly the last 2 years (or more) but is sound.  So we’ll see.  It’s put up or shut up time.

He is still at Suffolk Downs and we’re in the process of getting him shipped home. Can hardly wait!

We think we’ve found our older horse!

Don’t want to jinx ourselves, but we’ve found what appears to be a perfect candidate for the experiment. Will post more info as it becomes available.
